Fallout 76 releases Fallout Worlds but postpones Season 6
The Fallout series has always had three seasons per game, but this will be the first Fallout game to not have one (there was no Fallout 4). The Fallout 76 Beta test has now concluded, and it will be launching on November 14th. This explains why Bethesda released Fallout 76 this month, but not Fallout 4. We don’t know when Fallout 76 will be released, but when it is, it will be in the form of Fallout Worlds, Bethesda’s first foray into the shared-world gaming space. We don’t know much about the game yet, but Bethesda has confirmed that it will launch without the base game, the multiplayer mode, or even the game’s name. It’s still in active development, but if the game is like previous Bethesda releases it will be half game, half marketing.
With just a month to go until the launch of the Fallout 76 beta, Bethesda has confirmed that it will be launching another beta, something that many fans have been asking for. “Fallout 76” has been delayed to October and will not be released at the same time as “Fallout 76” or “Fallout 4”.
It’s a huge update day for Fallout 76, but it’s not as large as it was supposed to be. While the post-apocalyptic game is releasing two new allies and Fallout Worlds servers today, Bethesda said yesterday that Season 6 would be delayed owing to a problem with the current season.
“We’ve identified a problem impacting Season 5 rank-ups, where players may be unable to collect prizes for ranks bought using Atoms in certain cases,” the company said. “This has no bearing on rank advancements gained via S.C.O.R.E., but we’re working hard to have this rectified as quickly as possible so that all players may enjoy the prizes they’ve earned.”
Season 5 will be extended by two weeks as Bethesda works out the kinks, following which Season 6 will begin. The studio stated that rank-up purchases would be disabled for the first week until the problem is resolved, but that everyone should have a nice week after that to finish the season and buy anything they want.
