Dwayne Johnson’s latest film, “Jungle Cruise,” has been released to a lukewarm reception. Critics have given the film a rotten score of 19% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie was directed by Rob Marshall and stars Dwayne Johnson as Captain Flint, who is tasked with taking passengers on a cruise down the Amazon River.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to social media to congratulate Jungle Cruise on receiving his highest-ever Rotten Tomato score, which was revealed on Friday in theaters and on Disney Plus through Premier Access.
The 49-year-old actor plays Frank ‘Skipper’ Wolff in the action-adventure comedy, which is based on the famous Disney Parks attraction that Walt Disney conceptualized for Disneyland’s opening day in 1955.
Before Disney postponed the release due to the coronavirus epidemic, the picture was slated for a summer 2020 release.
‘Just blown away,’ the former wrestler said on Twitter and Instagram in almost similar comments. Thank you very much!!! The highest audience score on @RottenTomatoes in my whole career, and that’s a long time since I’m a dinosaur.

‘The public has spoken! ‘A once-in-a-lifetime experience….’
On its release day, 30 July, the picture received a 94 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, but it has subsequently fallen to 93 percent as of 1 August, still putting it ahead of Johnson’s second most popular film with audiences, Disney’s Moana.
It’s also now 63 percent on the Tomatometer, which is the critic score for the film based on 259 reviews. Its new status indicates that it has received more positive reviews than negative ones thus far; otherwise, it would be rated as “rotten.”
In addition, the picture grossed $32.4 million (£23.4 million) in its first weekend in the United States, plus another $30 million (£21.5 million) via its Disney Plus Premier Access distribution, all of which are acceptable numbers in the present climate.
Dr. Lily Houghton, a biologist eager to find a mythical flower with miraculous healing properties in the Amazon, is also portrayed by Emily Blunt, and Frank is the captain with the boat that can help her get there.

When speaking with Metro.co.uk about his experience shooting the film, Jack confessed that it was “humiliating” when he dislocated a rib while riding an exercise bike off set while trying to understand the subtitles on a Drew Barrymore picture.
‘It was just so embarrassing when Dwayne [Johnson] was pumping enormous quantities of iron in his gym and I dislocated a rib watching 50 First Dates on an exercise bike!’ the comic said.
The Jungle Cruise is now playing in theaters and is available on Disney Plus with Premier Access.
