The online Mech battler MechWarrior Online will get a new update tomorrow, with several revamps, reworks, and modifications including a new version of the Caustic Valley terrain, weapon adjustments, and updates to ‘Mechs including the Flea, Vindicator, and Hatamoto-Chi. If you want your huge murder machine to have slightly less heat mitigation or slightly slower missiles, the patch will provide a second set of quirks for specific Mech versions. The patch notes linked above include all of the information pilots will need.

Meanwhile, Piranha Games’ standalone single-player game MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries has received a new addition, Legend of the Kestrel Lancers. This new addition will feature 14 new missions with custom mechanics, dialogue, and cutscenes, as well as seven new questlines with 10 new combat situations, new biomes and garrisons, and 23 new Mech variations. The basic game will also get an update that will enable players to switch between active Mechs in their lance in the middle of a mission and allow robots to punch one other. The expansion will be released on PC on September 23rd, simultaneously with the game’s release on PS4 and PS5. Below is a video that highlights the expac’s characteristics.
