In a blockbuster game, Washington would go on to beat the Cowboys 28-14. Meanwhile, without any warning or fanfare in the press conference following that victory, Montez Sweat took out his positive COVID-19 test and then walked offstage.
The “Washington Football Team” is a professional football team based in Washington, D.C. The team competes in the National Football League as members of the North Division of the National Football Conference. The team plays its home games at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.
The Washington Football Team is riding high heading into Week 14’s crucial NFC East clash against the Dallas Cowboys. After a four-game winning streak, Ron Rivera’s team is at 6-6. However, Washington has just received some alarming news. Against the Cowboys and maybe beyond, the Football Team will be missing defensive end Montez Sweat.

The Washington Redskins were ecstatic to get Montez Sweat back for the game against the Dallas Cowboys. The team, on the other hand, will have to wait even longer.
Sweat was put on injured reserve after sustaining a broken jaw against the Denver Broncos in Week 8. Due to injuries, the 25-year-old has missed the previous four games. Now he’ll miss another game for reasons unrelated to football.
Sweat tested positive for coronavirus, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network (COVID-19). Because the 2019 first-round pick is unvaccinated, he must quarantine for at least 10 days, according to league rules.
Sweat will almost certainly miss the Cowboys game, but he might return in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Sweat had 19 stops, three tackles for loss, four sacks, and two forced fumbles before falling down. Washington’s defense relies heavily on the Mississippi State product. Against a good Dallas attack, defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio will be greatly missed.

During the 2021 NFL season, the Washington Football Team has faced various challenges. It all began in Week 1 when starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick went down with a season-ending hip injury. Taylor Heinicke has done an excellent job stepping in, and his performance has helped the squad win games in recent weeks.
Logan Thomas, a tight end for the football team, was just lost for the season. Against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 13, the Virginia Tech product sustained a knee injury. In 2021, the club put him on injured reserve for the second time, ending his season.
Washington’s greatest loss was outstanding defensive end Chase Young. In the Week 10 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year tore his ACL. Young was also out for the season due to the injury.
Early in the season, Washington’s defense got off to a poor start and didn’t live up to expectations. Recently, though, there has been a significant change. The unit, on the other hand, misses Young’s presence. Although he’s just in his second NFL season, the former Ohio State star has already established himself as a team leader.
Like Young, Montez Sweat is a ferocious pass rusher. Washington is in severe need of his return to the field. Unfortunately, with his absence, the rest of the defense will have to pick up the slack against the Cowboys.
How can Ron Rivera’s team unseat the Cowboys in the NFC East?

Look away now, but the Washington Football Team has a chance to win the NFC East. With an 8-4 record, the Dallas Cowboys are in first place. Washington is 6-6 with a two-game deficit against Dallas.
Despite the fact that the Football Team has some distance to make up, Ron Rivera’s team has a clear route to overtake the division leader. It all begins in Week 14 against the Cowboys at home.
Washington is on a four-game winning run heading into this contest. Dallas is coming off a Thursday Night Football win against the New Orleans Saints. Mike McCarthy’s team, on the other hand, does not seem to be as dominating as it was in the first half of the season.
The challenge for Washington is to maintain the current momentum. Over the last four games, the defense has been outstanding. During that time, opponents have scored an average of 17.5 points per possession against Jack Del Rio’s team. Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Jamin Davis, and Kendall Fuller led an all-around team effort.
When Montez Sweat returns, the defense might become even more formidable down the stretch.
Washington’s offense should avoid shootouts, but the defense has the ability to keep the club competitive week in and week out.
In recent weeks, the Cowboys have shown some red signs. Making a run at the NFC East title isn’t out of the question for the Redskins.
