The Walking Dead’s Grim Glenn and Negan Callback in “Hunted”

Fans of the hit AMC/AMC series ‘The Walking Dead’, especially those who watch the show’s most recent season, will  recognize the name “Grim Glenn” when  it is  mentioned in  the series  episode “Hunted”. This  episode marks  the first time ever that the main character in the  show has  been  killed off by  another  character. Glenn was  killed  when  he  was  shot  in the  head by  Negan  after he  escaped  from  his  prison  in  the  bus

The Walking Dead season 8 finale, “The Lost and the Plunderers”, was a show of two halves. The episode opened and closed with scenes from the past, and began and ended with scenes from the future. Both scenes featured the same characters: Glenn and Negan.

The Walking Dead has a habit of killing off fan favorite characters in the most shocking and shocking ways possible. Case in point: The characters of Maggie and Glenn, played by Lauren Cohan and Steven Yeun, who were killed off in the fourth season of the AMC series. In “Hunted” Glenn and Maggie get a surprise reunion after a long separation, where Maggie begs him to leave his group to be with her again. As for Negan, his name is Glenn’s nickname from his time in the marines, and Glenn calls Maggie “Negan,” a callback to a moment in the comics when Glenn and Maggie were separated and reunited.

When Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) try to work together on The Walking Dead, there will be blood. In “Acheron: Part 1,” Negan leaves Maggie behind to die in a subway tunnel filled with walkers, believing the angry widow is luring him below to murder him on their group’s journey to Meridian. In “Acheron: Part 2,” the adversaries make a ceasefire and work together to live, only to be confronted with a new danger on the road: the Reapers. Maggie must leave a wounded Alden (Callan McAuliffe) behind and go on alone with Negan as they are pursued in “Hunted,” otherwise Alexandria would starve.

“Hunted” concludes in a field outside of a burned-out church, where Negan uses his crowbar to kill a stumbling walker. Maggie examines the blood-dripping crowbar, recalling Negan’s use of a bleeding baseball bat to kill Glenn (Steven Yeun) in Season 7’s “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.”

“I believe there’s a continuous push and pull of believing you know who the other person is from the time they need to leave Alden in the church and walk out, just the two of them,” Cohan remarked on the after-show Talking Dead. “And I think what’s fascinating about Maggie’s conflict with Negan is that he does protect her. It just makes the choice you want to make regarding your adversary more difficult.”

In “Hunted,” Negan rescues Maggie twice, first from an approaching Reaper and then by pushing her away from a thrown grenade. When Maggie decides to continue without Alden, Negan follows her example without saying anything.

“We see the blood pouring from the crowbar just as soon as he’s done something redeeming,” Cohan said, “and can’t help but think of the blood flowing from the bat and what he did, and who he is, and how that will never change.”

Maggie informs Negan of this “”Hunted,” in which he refutes his assertion that “things change.” People evolve.”

“No. You may have them fooled, but not me “In the midst of zombie-infested forests, she scolds. “Negan, stop acting like you’re one of us. You may even believe it. However, you’re likely just as adept at lying to yourself as you are to others.”

It’s after Negan promises Maggie that he’ll fight for her, even if it means battling the Reapers who are preying on Maggie’s dispersed group of survivors.

“‘I’m on your side,’ Negan simply replies as he stares at her. He knows that the only way they’re going to live is if they work together, because the position they’re in is so f—ing severe “On Talking Dead, Morgan said. “Maggie, being Maggie, is obstinate and can’t see beyond the tip of her nose. He’s attempting to persuade her that in order for them to live, they’ll have to cooperate. As a result, he must state unequivocally, “We are on the same team here.” To survive to see tomorrow if for no other reason. It’s so simple, and he’s just trying to hammer it home once again.”

It’s no coincidence that the first episode of the seventh season of The Walking Dead featured a reunion between Negan and his former “fiduciary” Glenn. The show’s producers have been very much taking cues from the comics since the show’s inception, and the two characters play important roles in each other’s comic book stories. However, their relationship has never been explored on the show yet.. Read more about walking dead season 10 episode 17 what did the guy say and let us know what you think.
