Riot Games has announced significant changes to the format of the spring and summer splits of the prestigious esports tournament League of Legends EMEA Masters 2024. This tournament gathers the strongest teams from various regional leagues in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), such as the UK and Nordics NLC, positioned one tier below the elite European division LEC. The bookmaker Mostbet in Nepal accepts bets on esports competitions, providing a great opportunity not only to enhance interest in watching games but also to earn for those well-versed in League of Legends.
Compressed Schedule For The Spring Split
The spring split of EMEA Masters 2024 will take place in a more condensed timeframe – from April 15 to April 28. The limited two-week window is explained by “common calendar constraints,” as clarified by Riot Games. To fit within such tight time frames, the number of simultaneously held matches will increase, but the overall number of matches will remain the same.
28 teams will participate in the tournament, starting from the play-in stage with 16 teams. At this stage, four groups of four participants will be formed, and a double-round-robin tournament will be conducted until two victories are achieved. The two best teams from each group will advance to the playoff stage with a format of up to three victories.
The four playoff winners will join the top teams from each regional league in the EMEA group stage, forming a bracket of 16 participants. Here, a double-round-robin tournament will also take place, and the two strongest teams from each group will advance to the upper-bracket playoffs with a format of up to five victories among the remaining eight teams.
New Format For The Summer Split
Changes have also affected the summer split of EMEA Masters 2024, which will now include “Last Chance Qualifiers” (LCQ) and live finals held in Germany. A total of 38 teams will compete in the summer season.
LCQ will serve as a platform for 24 teams competing for 1-3 slots from each region in the main group stage of the tournament. 16 participants in the group stage will be represented by the 13 winners of the regional leagues of the EMEA summer season, who will receive direct invitations. The remaining three slots will go to the top teams from the LCQ.
Group Stage And Playoffs
In the group stage, four quartets will play for positions in the upper and lower bracket playoffs using a double-round-robin system until two victories. Here, the top eight teams will continue the fierce competition in a reseeding format: group stage winners will start in the upper bracket, and second-placed teams in the lower bracket. Playoff matches will be played up to three victories, but the lower bracket final and grand final will be played up to five victories.
Prize Pool
A substantial incentive for the participating teams in EMEA Masters 2024 will be a significant prize pool of 75,000 euros (≃82,083 US dollars), distributed among esports teams as follows:
- 1st place – $21,888.93 (€20,000).
- 2nd place – $13,680.58 (€12,500).
- 3-4 places – $7,387.51 (€6,750).
- 5-8 places – $4,377.79 (€4,000).
The tournament champion will receive an impressive cash prize of 20,000 euros, equivalent to approximately 21,889 US dollars at the current exchange rate. The runner-up will take home 12,500 euros or about 13,681 dollars.
The bronze medalists will share 6,750 euros each (approximately 7,388 dollars). Teams finishing in the 5th to 8th positions will be entitled to a consolidation prize of 4,000 euros (approximately 4,378 dollars).
Such an impressive prize pool will serve as additional motivation for esports athletes to give their best and showcase their skills at the EMEA Masters 2024 tournament. The competition for every euro promises to be uncompromising!
Results Of The Previous Season
At last year’s EMEA Masters, the Irish team “Nativz” achieved significant success, winning the summer playoffs of the British NLC 2023 league and qualifying for the international event along with “Nord Esports.” It is expected that both of these teams will participate in the upcoming tournament, defending the honor of their region.
Culmination On The Main LEC Stage
The climax of the summer EMEA Masters 2024, as in the previous year, will unfold on the grand stage during the LEC 2024 roadshow in Germany. The two finalists will receive invitations to the final tournament of the LEC 2024 season in Munich. This is a brilliant opportunity for young talented players to showcase their skills on one of the main European esports platforms.
A New Level Of Competition
The innovations in the upcoming EMEA Masters splits promise to make the tournament even more spectacular and competitive. By uniting the best regional teams under the banners of their countries, this event will be a vivid showcase of esports mastery in the League of Legends discipline across the entire EMEA space. We look forward to intense battles and the emergence of new star names in the LoL esports scene!
