In the Anime
The Pokémon anime series follows Ash, a young Pokémon trainer, and his buddy Pikachu as they journey through the Pokémon universe. Serena is Ash’s traveling partner and an aspiring Pokémon master. She initially appears in The Electric Tale of Pikachu, and she was finally acknowledged as a formal part of Ash’s squad in the Kalos area. She has captured a variety of Pokémon and learnt many vital things about being a trainer from her companions, most notably Ash, throughout her tenure on the program.
