What Is Midnight Season 1 Race to World First
World of Warcraft offers a wide range of competitive activities, such as ranked PvP matches. But one of the most popular competitions in the community is the Race to World First. This contest sees guilds of professional players compete to surpass each other and be the first to complete raids after the release of a new season.
Since the release of the Onyxia’s Lair raid in 2004, guilds have competed for the right to be the first to conquer the challenge. Winning the tournament doesn’t officially guarantee any special prizes, but after noticing the community’s increased interest in the competition, Blizzard introduced special Hall of Fame achievements, awarded to the first 200 guilds to complete the raid. After the race, they also post the top participants on their official website.
Midnight Season 1 Race to World First Raids
Midnight Season 1 was launched on March 24, 2026, drawing the attention of players across every region. Strongest WoW guilds began their rivalry immediately after the raids The Voidspire, March on Quel’Danas, and The Dreamrift became available.
● The Voidspire is the main raid. Unlike the other two instances, it features six bosses. This raid is key due to the large number of bosses, which means more mechanics to learn and a longer overall completion time.
● March on Quel’Danas is the second-largest raid in Midnight Season 1. It features two bosses: Belo’ren and Midnight Falls.
● The Dreamrift is the smallest raid in Midnight Season 1, which consists of just one boss, Chimaerus. This raid was cleared fairly quickly by the leading teams immediately after its release.
Midnight Season 1 Race to World First Teams
The Race for World First draws a large number of participants from all over the world. Any guild can participate in the race, regardless of how popular and strong it is. Teams are usually divided according to the region they represent, such as the US, EU, and CN. Below, we’ll discuss which teams represent the strongest representatives of their region:
Race to World First North American Guilds
All teams from the US region are undoubtedly among the most persistent and determined to win the entire race. Here is a list of teams competing in the North American region:
● Team Liquid – Undoubtedly one of the strongest teams in the RWF. They have already won four raids in a row, including raids such as Nerub-ar Palace, Undermine and Manaforge Omega. The team consists of 33 players, including reserve raiders.
● Instant Dollars – One of the longest-playing teams, despite its generally not the highest places in the leaderboard of the War Within RWF.
● Honestly – A team that suffered a drop in the overall rankings during The War Within expansion, but gained momentum and broke into the top 5 in Midnight Season 1.
Race to World First EU Guilds
The UE region boasts the most intense rivalry due to the large number of strong guilds advancing quickly through raids.
● Echo – This German guild earned two major victories in the Amirdrassil and Sanctum of Domination races and took second places through all The War Within raids. The guild has a unique approach for each raid, and their teamwork is the envy of many international teams.
● Method – A team with nearly two decades of professional raiding experience. Although their leadership has become less frequent in recent years, the guild holds a special place in the hearts of fans and regular players alike, thanks to their incredibly engaging streams, helpful guides, and the Method raid tools add-on, which is widely used by raiders of all levels.
● FatSharkYes – One of those guilds that plays even in professional tournaments for fun and still managed to rise from 8th to 5th place in the top of The Manaforge Omega race.
● Synergy – A guild that performed poorly in The War Within raids, but confidently entered the Midnight expansion with renewed strength and new members in its ranks.
● Advance – A young guild, founded only in the Shadowlands expansion, yet they proved themselves admirably, taking 6th place in Manaforge Omega. To this day, the team works to hone their skills, raiding seven days a week.
Race to World First Asian Guilds
Chinese guilds aren’t the most popular in Western regions, but they are highly respected in their home country. The team that takes first place or finishes in the top three will receive a guaranteed cash prize from NetEase of ¥1.4 million ($195,000 USD) and ¥500,000 ($70,000 USD), respectively.
● 火锅英雄 (Huoguo Hero) – The guild that ranks first among others in all of China. Their main technique is to make a large number of attempts without lengthy analysis.
● 佶天鸿 (JiTianHong / JTH) – A veteran team that has come a long way and survived the merge with Alpha and Skyline to form Team Aster for the Sanctum of Domination race.
● Identity – Another young guild debuting in the Manaforge race is Omega, reassembled from the previously retired Skyline team.

For the community, this competition primarily provides an opportunity to watch the teams’ progress live. If you’re interested in participating in the Race for World First, you have the opportunity to participate. You don’t need a Twitch channel or be a popular player to join. All you need is a guild of at least 20-25 players.
While participation itself doesn’t have any mandatory requirements, you need to understand that this race is primarily a raid run, an instance that requires coordinated work from all participants, knowledge of your personal class, specialization, developed communication skills, and, of course, the appropriate armor level. Assembling a whole guild of good players is only part of the job; you’re also required to regularly participate in joint training sessions and analyze each run.
